Early June marked the end of Team Read school year programming and was an opportunity for celebration! This year, more than 300 Team Read teen coaches worked with nearly 500 readers across four districts through pandemic disruptions and both in-person and virtual tutoring sessions. Coaches across all four school districts provided more than 12,000 hours of tutoring this year.
A total of 419 student readers completed the program year with online and in-person graduation ceremonies on the program’s final day. During the ceremonies, students read poems they practiced with their coaches, such as “Where the Sidewalk Ends “and “I Stuck My Finger Up My Nose.” Reading coaches and students shared gratitude messages, and all students received Terrific Reader awards for their hard work.
